EXCLUSIVE: Teton Ridge And Ultraboom Media are teaming on Untamed, a bold new documentary series that provides an unfiltered, raw look into the intensity and physical demand of rodeo and everything in between. Produced by Emmy-winning Erik Osterholm and Michael Simkin and Carrie Kaylor.
“The world of rodeo is truly electric — the athletes, the fanbase and the culture are unparalleled
in professional sports and it’s all turned up to full volume at the NFR. UNTAMED is the definitive
rodeo follow-doc series. It’s a show for the core fans as well as those new to the sport and it’s
guaranteed to hook you in. We’ve held this close to the chest as the series has taken shape and
we are thrilled to announce that it will be available for audiences soon,” said Osterholm.
The series features the lives of rodeo’s top competitors as they prepare for the National Finals Rodeo
(NFR), the pinnacle of Western sports, held in Las Vegas every December.
The series highlights bareback bronc riding athletes, where riders face the unrelenting eight second challenge of staying atop a bucking horse with only a leather rigging, and barrel racing athletes, a discipline dominated by women that tests speed and precision as horse and rider navigate a cloverleaf pattern in seconds. Beyond the arena, UNTAMED delves into the personal stories of these athletes, revealing their dedication, resilience, and the support systems that drive them.
“Rodeo captivates tens of millions of fans every year with its unmatched blend of tradition, grit, and raw excitement,” said Deirdre Lester, CEO of Teton Ridge. “UNTAMED goes beyond simply telling the story of rodeo—it immerses viewers in the heart-pounding action and showcases the lives of the athletes who define it. The series not only honors the generations of fans who have made the sport a cultural cornerstone but also invites new audiences to experience the passion and resilience that make rodeo one of America’s most iconic and enduring traditions.”
