Cocktail released in 2012 and it starred Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, Diana Penty in leading roles. The film turned out to be a box office success with fans loving the twisted storyline between best friends. Cocktail by Dinesh Vijan also proved to be a game changer in Deepika Padukone’s career. She established herself as a diva with tremendous talent with this film. Now, the reports of Cocktail 2 being in the making are doing the rounds on the web.
Cocktail 2 to have a new cast?
If the latest reports are anything to go by, Cocktail 2 is in the making but with a different cast. Reportedly, Shahid Kapoorand Kriti Sanon are going to be the leads. Allegedly, Dinesh Vijan and Luv Rajan have joined hands for this project. Another report in Peeping Moon also suggests Pushpa 2: The Rule actress Rashmika Mandanna too is a part of this project. Reportedly, Rashmika and Shahid Kapoor have been meaning to work together for a long time and finally they have found a project. They were supposed to reunite for Anees Bazmee’s comedy drama in 2023 but that did not happen. Cocktail 2 will be their first film together.
Talking about Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, they featured together in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Their chemistry was much loved. While a report in entertainment news site Pinkvilla states that Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor have been finalised but the hunt for the second actress is still on. The movie is penned by Luv Ranjan while it will be directed by Homi Adajania. A source revealed to the portal that the script of Cocktail 2 is loaded with humour and light-hearted moments. Friendship will be the core theme.
There is no confirmation on these reports as yet from the makers or the star cast. But it will be interesting to see a love triangle saga featuring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
