‘The Wheel of Time’ Adds 4 To Season 3 Cast

Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense), Luke Fetherston (Doctor Who), Callum Kerr (Hollyoaks) and Nuno Lopes (White Lines) have joined the Season 3 cast of Prime Video‘s fantasy epic series The Wheel of Time, starring Rosamund Pike, Madeleine Madden and Josha Stradowski.

Williams, Fetherston, Kerr and Lopes will portray the royal family of the kingdom of Andor. Andor is the largest, most populous, and most influential country within the heart of the Westlands, the fictional land depicted in Robert Jordan’s epic fantasy book series on which the television series is based.

Williams portrays Morgase Trakand, the Queen of Andor. Morgase did not inherit her throne. Rather, when the succession was left without an heir, she waged a brutal war against a half-dozen noble rivals, and thanks to her political savvy and utter ruthlessness, she won. She has sworn ever since to shield her daughter and heir, Elayne, from ever having to endure what she did… and do what she did. But far from being a tyrant, Morgase has become one of the best queens Andor has ever known.

Fetherston is Lord Galad of House Trakand. A royal prince of Andor and brother to Gawyn and Elayne, Galad is a skilled fighter, famously handsome, and protective of his younger sister.

Kerr plays Lord Gawyn of House Trakand. Gawyn is a royal prince of Andor, and older brother to Galad and Elayne. Despite being the first born, he is not the heir to the throne. Andor is a matriarchy, and so the role of heir falls to his younger sister, Elayne.

The Wheel of Time, set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists but only women can use it, is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television and comes from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Chuck writer Rafe Judkins, who is showrunner and exec producer.

The show is based on Jordan’s best-selling fantasy book series The Wheel of Time, in which a humble farm boy, Rand al’Thor, learns he is The Dragon Reborn—a dangerous figure from history destined to save the world … or break it. The Wheel of Time turns, and the Last Battle approaches.

At the end of Season 2, after defeating Ishamael, Rand reunites with his friends at Falme and is declared the Dragon Reborn. But in Season Three, the threats against the Light are multiplying: the White Tower stands divided, the Black Ajah run free, old enemies return to the Two Rivers, and the remaining Forsaken are in hot pursuit of the Dragon… including Lanfear, whose relationship with Rand will mark a crucial choice between Light and Dark for them both. As the ties to his past begin to unravel, and his corrupted power grows stronger, Rand becomes increasingly unrecognizable to his closest allies, Moiraine and Egwene. These powerful women, who started the series as teacher and student, must now work together to prevent the Dragon from turning to the Dark…no matter the cost.

In addition to Pike, Stradowski and Madden, Daniel Henney stars as al’Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn as Mat Cauthon, Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, Kate Fleetwood as Leandrin Guirale, Natasha O’Keeffe as Lanfear, Ayoola Smart and Kae Alexander as Min Farshaw.

Judkins adapted The Wheel of Time for television and executive produces with Pike, along with Rick Selvage and Larry Mondragon of iwot productions (Winter Dragon), Ted Field of Radar Pictures (Jumanji: The Next Level, Winter Dragon), Mike Weber (Jumanji: The Next Level, Beirut), Marigo Kehoe (Outlander, The Crown), Ciaran Donnelly (Kin), Justine Juel Gillmer (The Survivor, Halo) and Dave Hill (Game of Thrones).

The Wheel of Time Season 3 premieres March 13 on Prime Video.

Williams is known for her role as Anna Crowe in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense and as Rosemary Cross in Wes Anderson’s Rushmore. She will soon be seen in HBO’s upcoming Dune: Prophecy.

Fetherston recently starred in Channel 4’s dark comedy-drama Big Mood and in the Apple TV comedy Still Up. He’ll next be seen starring opposite Simone Ashley and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin in the Prime Video romantic comedy Picture This.

Kerr was a regular on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, and appeared on Hulu/Fox’s Monarch, and Lifetime’s Flowers in the Attic. Most recently, Kerr appeared on the second season of One Piece and season six of Virgin River, both on Netflix.

Lopes is known for the leading role of Boxer in the Netflix series White Lines. His most recent work includes the feature Great Yarmouth: Provisional Figures, the French feature film Azuro, Céline Devaux’s Everybody Loves Jeanne, which premiered at Cannes, as Samuel in Tiago Guedes’ Remains of The Wind, and Bad Living, which premiered at Berlinale. In 2024, he also appeared in Apple’s The New Look.
