Actress Ameesha Patel who played the role of Sakina in the Gadar franchise has grabbed a lot of attention with her bold statement on screen roles. The actress has recently responded to Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma’s comments, wherein he suggested she embrace character progression by portraying a mother-in-law. Well, now Ameesha has made it clear she has no plans to accept such roles in the future despite receiving a huge amount.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Anil Sharma said that Ameesha resisted playing a mother-in-law on-screen during Gadar 2. He said that iconic actress Nargis Dutt, who portrayed a mother in Mother India at a young age is a perfect example of embracing challenging roles. Now, Patel has taken to her X (formerly Twitter) and has taken a direct dig at Anil’s statement. Sharing a screenshot of the remarks, she tweeted, ‘Dear @Anilsharma_dir dear Anilji. This is only a film and not a reality of some family, so on screen, I do have a say as to what I want to do and not do respect u loads, but I will never play a mother-in-law for Gadar or any film, even if paid 100 crores’. She further added saying, ‘so glad MR NITIN KENNY chose me to play sakinas character and to play my lovely TARAS wife and ofcourse jeeteys mom.: but for me gadar brand is and always will be about us 3 only ??kya karoon .: Possesive maa hoon?????’.

Ameesha said that she believes that their fans love and cherish the Gadar franchise for its portrayal of Tara played by Sunny Deol and Sakina as a heroic figures. She continued saying, ‘Fans don’t want to see Tara Sakina as father-in-law and mother-in-law; they love their Tara being a hero and a superhero only’.
Patel also conveyed her respect for him and wished him well for his recent release Vanvaas which stars Nana Patekar, Simrat Kaur, and Utkarsh Sharma in main roles. She concluded by saying, ‘Also
