‘Landman’ TV Series Adds Mustafa Speaks As Recurring

EXCLUSIVE: Mustafa Speaks (Joe Pickett) has been set for a recurring role on Paramount+‘s Billy Bob Thornton-led drama Landman from creators Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.

The actor will play Boss, one of the more experienced roughnecks on Tommy’s (Thornton) crew, who’s tough-as-nails and has seen it all. In addition to Thornton, series regulars will include Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore. Others set to recur include Jon Hamm and Colm Feore.

Based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs, an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.

Currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas, the series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions. Executives producers include Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay, as well as Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch for Imperative Development LLC, and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly. Peter Feldman is serving as co-executive producer.

Most recently a series regular on Paramount+’s crime drama Joe Pickett, which ran for two seasons, Speaks continues to recur as Coach Kenny Boone on The CW’s All American, which returns for its sixth season on April 1st. Also previously recurring on Netflix’s Seven Seconds, the actor is represented by Innovative Artists, Link Entertainment, and Brecheen Feldman Breimer.
