Imtiaz Ali praised Diljit Dosanjh and called him one of the biggest stars of all time. With all the praises coming his way Diljit Dosanjh got emotional and cried on stage. Parineeti Chopra was by his side. Imtiaz Ali also mentioned that without Diljit and Parineeti, this film wouldn’t have come into existence. The filmmaker shared that it was Angad Bedi who suggested Diljit Dosanjh’s name to play the lead character in the film. Imtiaz Ali recalled how they spoke over the phone for more than one hour and Diljit heard the story very carefully. Over the phone call, Diljit Dosanjh agreed to be a part of the film.

The trailer of Amar Singh Chamkila is out now. It narrates the story of how Amar Singh Chamkila rose to fame. He was called the Elvis of Punjab known for obscene lyrics of his songs. He finds a singing partner in Parineeti Chopra’s character and their pair becomes a hit. The movie is going to release on Netflix on April 12. The music of the same is done by AR Rahman.
