Hulu has ordered its own Project Runway-type design competition series, but this one has designers competing for the chance to doll up performers in the music industry.
Hosted by supermodel and actress Kate Upton, Dress My Tour promises to takes fans behind the curtain of the āunpredictableā fashion and music industries. It will follow 11 aspiring fashion designers as they attempt to create attire worthy of JoJo Siwa, Paula Abdul, Toni Braxton, Ty Dolla $ign,Ā and more.
The contestants on the series are Keiandrea Daniels, Veejay Floresca, Michael Shead, Rey Ortiz, McCauley Star, Afaf Seyam, Jessica West, Todd Fisher, Julissa Peralta, Cierra Zacchaeus and Traviance Dunn.Ā The winner collects $100,000.Ā
Abdul and Braxton will appear as guest judges in the 10-episode season, along with Siwa, Ty Dolla $ign, Coi Leray, JT of The City Girls, French Montana, and Jessie James Decker.Ā Ā
Emmy award-winning costume designer Marina Toybina and director Laurieann Gibson will serve as mentors and judges for the series. Toybina designed for concert tours, global primetime television shows and the Super Bowl Halftime Show.Ā Gibson has worked on global tours, award shows, and TV performances.Ā
The concept was developed by Dr. Holly Carter, and the series is produced by her company, RelevĆ© Entertainment, and All3Media America. Carter also serves as executive producer, along with EP/showrunner LaNeĆ© Griffin, and executive producers Keesha Brickhouse, Dean Houser and Tarvenia āTā Jones.Ā
Hulu has yet to reveal the launch date.
