Diljit Dosanjh shares his thoughts about Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali movie Rockstar

During an interview with Film Companion, Diljit Dosanjh was asked about the connection between art and pain. The singer and actor confesses that he was very troubled by the same as he never had any pain or troubles in his life before. Diljit shares that he has no pain in his life. He then reveals that initially tried finding pain after watching Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar. The Lover singer was very inspired by the movie and felt that Ranbir did a great job in it. “After watching the film, I tried finding my inner pain. But I did not find any. Then I was like, let’s continue without pain,” he says. Imtiaz Ali also reacts to the connection between art and pain

The director Imtiaz Ali himself shares that there is no connection between great art and pain. He reveals that the reason he made the film was because he wondered from a very young age about how he could become a big person. He initially felt that pain makes great art and it was his thought process till he was working on Rockstar. Imtiaz then realised that it was not that straightforward. It is not such that a heartbreak will make something great happen.

Talking about Amar Singh Chamkila, the movie also stars Parineeti Chopra and is a biographical drama film based on Amar Singh Chamkila, a Punjab folk singer who sang songs with lyrics depicting women objectification, alcoholism, sexual violence, and domestic violence. Amar Singh Chamkila is releasing on 12th April on Netflix.
