Arizona TV News Anchor Ana Orsini Dies At 28


Ana Orsini, a beloved morning news anchor at CBS affiliate KOLD-TV (News 13) in Tucson, AZ, died suddenly of a brain aneurism last week, the station announced. She was 28.

Born in Denver, CO, Orsini initially attended the University of Arizona before transferring to Texas A&M where she graduated with a degree in journalism and a double minor in communications and sports management in 2018.

Orsini began her broadcast career in 2018 at a Lubbock, Texas news station where she worked as an anchor/reporter. Prior to joining KOLD in June 2023, Orsini spent three years as a morning and midday anchor at a station in Medford, OR,.  covering everything from “major wildfires to helping shelter pets find their forever homes,” according to her bio.

Her colleagues announced her death Monday during a broadcast.

“Sad news to share with you, our beloved friend and co-anchor Ana Orsini passed away unexpectedly last week,” anchor Tyler Butler told viewers.

Tearful co-anchor Carsyn Currier added, “Ana has been here at 13 News since June of 2023, and we are devastated by this loss.”

“We had the opportunity to work with her every day, and we do want you to know that what you saw with her on air, the funny, crazy person she was, she was just like that off camera and more so,” he wrote on his Facebook account.

Currier described Orsini as “not only beautiful, talented, and hilarious, but she was unlike anyone I’ve ever met.”

“To know Ana was to LOVE her,” Currier wrote on her Instagram account.

“She made everyone around her feel so special, heard and understood. Waking up in the middle of the night to go to work is always challenging, but knowing I was going to work with Ana made it that much easier.”
