Love at First Sight filmmaker Vanessa Caswill will direct the next big Colleen Hoover novel for the big screen, Reminders of Him, at Universal Pictures.
The pic is set for a Valentine’s Day release of Friday, Feb. 13, 2026. Warner Bros’ recently moved their MRC Emerald Fennell take of Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi onto the date. Who says two female skewing tentpoles can’t compete against one another? Wicked and Moana 2 proved that all boats can rise in such circumstances.
Reminders of Him is a movie about motherhood, forgiveness and the power of one love to heal even the most shattered heart. Hooever and Lauren Levine adapted the novel for film. The film is produced by Hoover and Levine for their production company, Heartbones Entertainment. First published in 2022, Reminders of Him has sold more than 6 million copies in the United States and is a best seller around the world.
This past summer, the feature adaptation of Hoover’s It Ends With Us became a box office phenomenon for women, opening to a surprise $50M stateside and finaling at $148.5M domestic, and $351M WW. Hoover’s other novels include It Starts with Us, Layla, Heart Bones, Confess and Verity.Â
Caswill directed the Haley Lu Richardson, Ben Hardy and Rob Delaney Netflix romantic drama feature Love at First Sight which follows a 20-year old girl who misses her flight at JFK Airport and meets a young British guy who may turn out to be her true love. She also directed the Julia Ormond 2019 miniseries Gold Digger as well as episodes of the Little Women miniseries.
Caswill is represented by CAA and 42. Universal Director of Production Development Christine Sun will oversee the project.
