Dan Abrams said that he will end his weeknight primetime show for NewsNation in February, citing his demanding schedule, although he indicated that he will continue to contribute to the network.
Abrams has hosted Dan Abrams Live since 2021, as the network turned to established personalities for its primetime programming.
He told viewers that “it’s impossible to keep devoting the time needed for this show while also running and growing my other businesses,” which include Law & Crime Network, Mediaite and Bottle Raiders.
Abrams told viewers, “With the help of an amazing production team, I’m incredibly proud of the show we have done day in and day out. With their thoughtful and strategic preparation and efforts at fairness, ad fontes media, which rates accuracy and media bias have us dead center on their right-left media bias chart.
“But creating this one hour of television takes many hours each day. I take every word, every tease, every guest, every on-screen graphic personally. There is no such thing as mailing it in for any of us, including me.”
Abrams also hosts a weekend show, On Patrol Live, as well as a daily SiriusXM show and he serves as chief legal analyst on ABC News.
“I will miss it,” Abrams said of his NewsNation show. “I know I will.. but I also need to be practical about what is possible to do every day so there really wasn’t any other choice.”
Abrams said that NewsNation would announce his replacement next year.
