Fighter did not live upto the hype in the theatres. But the movie has fared really well on Netflix. Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer did not impress the Indian viewers who said it was a rip-off of movies like Top Gun: Maverick and more. Fighter was panned by the critics as well. However, Netflix audiences all over have liked the movie. This week, it is ahead of Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The blockbuster of 2023 created ripples even on the OTT platform.

Fighter beats Animal on Netflix
In its third week on Netflix, Fighter got 1.6 million global views. It dropped minus 75.4 per cent and made 14 million global views in total. With this, it has surpassed Animal that made 13.6 million global views on Netflix. They are way of many Indian blockbusters like Dunki (10.4 million complete views) in three weeks and Salaar, 3.5 million views for two weeks.
It has beaten even the original Top Gun Maverick that made its debut on Netflix a week before Fighter.
Indian movies that ruled on Netflix more than Fighter and Animal
The first spot goes to RRR. SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s film made 23.7 million views globally while Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga has 18.1 million views. One of the best Indian thrillers, Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma made 14 million views on the OTT platform. Animal and Gangubai Kathiawadi are both are more than 13 million views.
The truly international projects were Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR. The former was a huge hit in Southeast Asia, while the later is the most successful Indian movie on any global OTT platform. In the past few days, Deepika Padukone fans have expressed displeasure saying that the role of Minal Chauhan was not crafted well in the film.
