EXCLUSIVE: Josh Duhamel (Shotgun Wedding), Dylan Sprouse (The Duel) and Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds) have just wrapped on the Mississippi production of The Neglected, an action thriller co-written, directed and produced by David Lipper (Murder at Hollow Creek), for which Red Sea Media is handling sales.

In the film, Detective Shaw (Duhamel) is about to retire when he finds out on his last day of work that a serial killer has buried his son alive. He then races against the clock to solve three murders and find his son’s location before he runs out of air.

Also starring Jeremy and Jason London and Elena Sanchez, the film is co-written by Adam G. Levine and Lipper, who produced alongside Robert A. Daly Jr. for Latigo, along with Mark Canton (300), Dorothy Canton, Denise Loren, Mark Fasano and Ryan Winterstern. Exec producers include Roman Kopelevich, Justin Levine, Timothy Alek Mulley, and Kimberly Hines. Kipp Tribble co-produced, with Oliver Scott as co-EP.

In a statement to Deadline, producer Daly Jr. shared, “David, the director, has championed this project for years. We could not be more excited to see this project come to life.”

Stated Lipper, “I think audiences are going to relate to the big question facing Shaw (Duhamel) in this film: who and what have we neglected in our lives and what is the cause and effect of that?”

Most recently seen starring opposite Jennifer Lopez in the hit Amazon rom-com Shotgun Wedding, Duhamel premiered his new action comedy London Calling at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this year. Upcoming, he’ll be seen in Netflix’s family drama series Ransom Canyon, crime thriller Full Throttle Mindset opposite Lukas Gage, and Joe Carnahan’s survival thriller Not Without Hope opposite Zachary Levi.

Sprouse has recently found rom-com success with titles like After We Collided, Beautiful Disaster, and Beautiful Wedding. Other recent and upcoming projects include The Duel, Aftermath, and Under Fire.

Known for turns in films like Inglourious Basterds and Atomic Blonde, Schweiger is coming off of Guy Ritchie’s action comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which Lionsgate released in the U.S. in April.

Prior features from Lipper include the action thriller Murder at Hollow Creek, starring Jason Patric, Mickey Rourke, and Jack Kesy, as well as horror pics Wolf Mountain and Death Link.

Duhamel is repped by CAA, John Carrabino Management, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller; Sprouse by UTA, Authentic, and Greenberg Traurig; and Schweiger by Independent Artist Group, 42, and Luminary Partners.
