Imtiaz Ali is coming up with Amar Singh Chamkila with Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. It is based on a real musician duo, Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur. Imtiaz Ali is known for his emotional storytelling. His stories and characters are layered and have deep meanings. Over the years, Imtiaz Ali has delivered some of the best films. Two of his films, Jab We Met starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Love Aaj Kal featuring Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and also the next one are much loved. Now, the director was asked if Jab We Met 2 and another sequel for LAK can be seen soon.

Imtiaz Ali reveals if Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal are getting sequels
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor starrer Jab We Met is one of the most loved Bollywood rom-coms. Imtiaz Ali is hailed for giving the best of characters, that is, Geet and Aditya, to Indian cinema. The movie has become a cult classic romance movie now. There has been ample buzz about the sequel, Jab We Met 2, in the making. Another movie that is much loved for the romance is Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan starrer Love Aaj Kal. While there exists a sequel already, featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, there also has been buzz about another sequel or a remake in the making. But they have all been rumours so far. Now, let’s get it straight from the horse’s mouth. The director was asked about the sequels in an interview with Pinkvilla.
He laughed and said no. But there’s more to it. Imtiaz says that for now, there are no plans for Love Aaj Kal 3 and Jab We Met 2. He confesses that he is not sure about making sequels to these movies. “But I never say never, though there are no plans at present. Let’s see what happens. I have three scripts that I am crazily desperate to start making,” he adds.

The movie follows the story and journey of one of the most influential Punjabi singers and his wife, Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur. His brash lyrics caused quite a controversy back in the day but also led to his fame. Parineeti Chopra, Diljit Dosanjh starrer is scheduled to release on Netflix on 12th April 2024.
