As per the latest reports, Malayalam film and Television actor Dileep Shankar is no more. He was reportedly found dead in a hotel room near Vanross Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. The actor checked into this hotel on December 19 and was occupying the room for the past few days. He was shooting for Television serial titled Panchagni. Reportedly, hotel staff found dead him in the room after getting a foul smell.

As per the local media reports, Dileep Shankar did not leave his room for two days. As the foul smell emerged, the staff informed the police. His co-stars were trying to reach him but could not get through. Probe has been launched as police is investigating the case. Forensic team arrived at the location and a post-mortem was reportedly carried out. Further details and cause of the demise are yet to be disclosed. To The New Indian Express, a police source informed, “There are no signs of foul play at this stage. The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the post-mortem.” The director of the show revealed to the portal Manorama that Dileep was suffering from a serious illness and was undergoing treatment. There was a two-day break amid the shoot and the actor wasn’t reachable.

Dileep Shankar’s sudden demise has shocked the industry. Actor Seema G Nair took to social media and penned a note mourning the loss. She wrote, “You called me five days ago, and I couldn’t talk because I had a headache that day. Now I found out the news when a journalist called me. What happened to you Dileep…why did this happen, God, I don’t even know what to write…my tributes to you.” On social media, fans are dropping RIP messages and expressing grief over his demise.
