We are seeking a versatile and creative Game Artist with a solid foundation in 2D design and concept art to enhance our game's visual experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in character development, poster design, and graphic design, excelling across various art styles. Expertise in industry-standard project management tools and artistic software, such as Figma, ProCreate, and Adobe Creative Suite, is essential.

Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in game art, concept art, or related fields.
- Strong skills in 2D drawing, illustration, and concept art.
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), and other relevant tools.
- Experience in character development and environmental design.
- Ability to work across multiple art styles, from cartoonish to realistic.
- Some experience with graphic design and the ability to design game posters and marketing assets.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Trello, Jira, or others.
- A solid portfolio showcasing diverse art styles, character designs, and game assets.
Part Time: 60% - 75%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.Ongoing/Renewable

Field Day Lab is a research and development group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison that creates educational games and digital tools for teaching and learning. Their focus is on designing interactive experiences that blend game-based learning with academic research, aiming to engage students and teachers in subjects such as science, history, and social studies. The lab collaborates with educators, scientists, and other researchers to develop these digital tools, often grounded in real-world data and classroom environments. They explore how games can enhance learning by providing students with interactive, immersive environments where they can experiment, explore, and apply concepts in new ways. Some of Field Day Lab's projects include curriculum-aligned games, virtual simulations, and community-based learning platforms. They are known for their interdisciplinary approach, combining expertise in design, education, and technology.
