Position Description
The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences ( BBS ) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is adding two full-time tenure system faculty members (open rank) with a focus in developmental psychology. We invite applicants with strong programs of research, and who have strengths in applying novel methodological or analytical approaches to their work. An ideal candidate would have scholarly interests that synergize with current faculty members, support lifespan developmental research at one of our research centers, and whose expertise supports our thriving undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The research area is open, but we are particularly interested in scholars with expertise in infancy; early childhood disorders; and/or cognitive development. A successful candidate should demonstrate a clear program of research, a strong publication record, and evidence of or potential for receiving extramural funding, commensurate with rank.
The appointment commences for the fall 2025 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience: A PhD or equivalent in Psychology or a related discipline is required. Candidates are expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals of diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
Preferred Education and Experience: Postdoctoral training is desirable.

The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences ( BBS ) is a dynamic, interdisciplinary school at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas). The Department of Psychology at UT Dallas includes over 40 full-time faculty members committed to excellence in research and teaching. Psychology faculty are leaders in their fields who use innovative experimental, observational, and brain imaging methods to answer theoretical and applied questions about human development, aging, human neuroscience and cognition, and social behavior. Many psychology faculty members have grants to support their work, actively publish their research in leading journals, and are leaders in their fields. Department faculty have opportunities to participate in one or more research centers, including The Center for BrainHealth , The Center for Children and Families , and The Center for Vital Longevity .
Child developmental psychologists in the department are affiliated with the Center for Children and Families, a research center with a large community outreach component, working with hundreds of young children throughout the DFW area each year. Many of CCF's programs target populations traditionally underrepresented in science. This community outreach is a resource to researchers in both recruitment, community partnerships, and community engagement to better understand the needs and goals of all families to guide their research with children.
