ERP Savvy is seeking a highly skilled SAP MM Materials Management Sr. Consultant to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SAP MM (Materials Management) Architect with a strong background in defense manufacturing to lead the design implementation and optimization of SAP MM solutions. The SAP MM Architect will play a critical role in managing the materials and procurement processes ensuring compliance with industry regulations and optimizing inventory management for projectbased and MaketoStock production environments. This role requires indepth knowledge of SAP MM functionality integration with related modules and a solid understanding of the specific needs of the defense sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Design and Architecture: Develop and architect SAP MM solutions that meet the unique requirements of defense manufacturing focusing on procurement inventory management and materials tracking across MTO and MTS production models.
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Collaborate with procurement production and supply chain teams to gather and analyze business requirements translating them into functional SAP specifications for materials management and procurement.
- System Configuration and Customization: Configure SAP MM modules including purchase requisitions purchase orders inventory management and valuation to support defense manufacturing needs ensuring high levels of accuracy and compliance.
- Integration with SAP Modules: Ensure seamless integration with related SAP modules such as SAP PP (Production Planning) SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) SAP PS (Project Systems) and SAP QM (Quality Management) to support endtoend manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Optimize supplier collaboration and vendor management processes ensuring compliance with defense industry standards and managing vendor qualification assessment and performance tracking.
- Inventory and Warehouse Optimization: Implement effective inventory and warehouse management processes focusing on optimizing stock levels for MTS production and managing projectspecific inventory for MTO production.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Design and implement SAP MM solutions that adhere to defense industry regulatory standards (e.g. ITAR DFARS) ensuring traceability and documentation compliance for materials and procurement processes.
- Data Migration and Master Data Management: Lead data migration activities ensuring accuracy in material master data BOMs and other key data sets critical for defense manufacturing.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Oversee testing activities including unit integration and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure SAP MM solutions meet both functional and compliance requirements.
- Training and Knowledge Transfer: Conduct training sessions for procurement supply chain and warehouse teams ensuring effective adoption of SAP MM processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance materials management and procurement processes implementing SAP MM optimizations that increase efficiency reduce costs and improve supplier collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Industrial Engineering Information Systems or a related field; Masters degree or SAP certification is preferred.
- Experience: 8 years of SAP experience with at least 5 years specializing in SAP MM within defense manufacturing or regulated industries; experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly preferred.
- IndustrySpecific Skills:
- Expertise in defense manufacturing processes including regulatory compliance projectbased materials management and vendor qualification.
- Familiarity with defense industry standards including ITAR DFARS and other relevant regulations impacting materials management.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of SAP MM including procurement inventory management valuation and material master configuration.
- Experience integrating SAP MM with SAP PP SAP PS SAP QM and other SAP modules to support cohesive manufacturing and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in data management including material master data vendor records and inventory tracking in a regulated industry.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities with a focus on complex supply chain and procurement challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with crossfunctional teams and external suppliers.
- Detailoriented proactive and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Leadership skills for guiding and mentoring junior team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Project Management: Familiarity with Agile or project management methodologies suited to defense manufacturing projects.
- SAP Certifications: SAP certification in MM SAP S/4HANA or other relevant modules.
- Vendor Management and Collaboration: Strong experience in managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with defense industry standards.
