As part of a strategic investment in a transformative expansion of the faculty of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty members: one with a focus on cognitive psychology and the other on cognitive neuroscience, to start July 2025. The successful candidate will have an exciting and active research program in any area of cognition and cognitive neuroscience broadly construed. Areas of research could include (but are not limited to) perception, concepts, memory, learning, language, action, reasoning, metacognition, social cognition, moral cognition, cognitive development, comparative/animal cognition, and decision-making. This search is a part of a larger departmental hiring effort that includes a concurrent search in the area of behavioral neuroscience.
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is located on the Homewood Campus of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland, and maintains close ties and collaborative relationships with the Departments of Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and Philosophy, as well as the Mind/Brain Institute and the SNF Agora Institute.

The expected academic base salary range for this position is $110,000- $144,500 (Assistant Professor level), $131,500 - $201,000 (Associate Professor level), and $156,00 - $316,000 (Full Professor level). The offered compensation will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience and qualifications, discipline, other work experience, and other factors as reasonably determined by Johns Hopkins University.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience or related field by the start of the position.
Applicants should submit a CV, cover letter, research and teaching statements, and three representative publications. In addition, three letters of recommendation should be submitted for applicants being considered at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary Range
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
