It has been an interesting year for singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. He not only delivered a solid performance but also entertained fans with his Dil-Luminati tour. However, when he started touring in various cities in India, he was given advisories to not sing songs on alcohol and violence. Fans and the artist were not pleased with it, but Dosanjh altered lyrics so that the show went on smoothly. Now rapper-singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has shared his reaction to the same.

Honey Singh comes in support of Diljit Dosanjh

During the tour, Diljit Dosanjh once said, “If all states ban liquor consumption, I will never sing a song about alcohol in my entire life.” Honey Singh has given a similar statement in support of the Crew actor. While talking to India today, Singh pointed out the double standards of the states where liquor is sold but songs are not allowed. The Lungi dance singer said, “They aren’t shutting down liquor stores. Let them make it a dry state, and make India a dry country. Then we can have a conversation about all this.”

Further in this entertainment news, Honey Singh said that he himself quit drinking and joked about turning his songs on alcohol into instrumentals. Honey also joked about replacing daaru-related words with lassi or jal jeera. “We’ll definitely join this campaign. We’ll sing a song about lassi, about chhaas, about jal jeera. You know, something similar,” the rapper said.

Honey Singh said that alcohol and its references are not exclusive just to Punjabi songs. It’s in the Indian culture. He pointed out how people drink during parties and weddings and it doesn’t happen just in Punjab.
