Karen Huger of Bravo‘s The Real Housewives of Potomac is facing some real-life consequences for driving under the influence and could face up to two years in prison.
The reality TV personality was found guilty on Wednesday, December 18, on five out of six charges following a March incident in Potomac, Maryland, that involved a car crash.
Huger was convicted of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of an address change, according to a report from Fox5 DC, who also noted that she was acquitted of reckless driving.
The court has set sentencing for January 29, during which Huger will find out if she will face jail time.
“Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we, of course, respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,” Huger’s lawyer, A. Scott Bolden, said in a statement to People. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”
Following Huger’s conviction, police body cam footage was released following the car crash.
Another video shows Huger at the police station refusing a breathalyzer test.
In another video, Huger says an officer she is “Thomas Jefferson’s concubine.”
