What’s hot?
Action thrillers packed with a bit of comedy are back in the game. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is all of it plus the heavy dose of technology. The genre blends into sci-fi as there’s a lot of artificial intelligence that can actually be available in the future. The movie begins with an intense chase sequence when an Indian convoy carrying an important weapon is ambushed by Kabir’s team. They manage to steal the weapon and the Indian Army has three days to save the nation. The very first scene of the film begins with thrill and there is no dull moment since then. With Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff being the leads, it is given that there will be death defying, jaw-dropping stunts that will keep you at the edge of your seats. The movie keeps up with the promise. The action scenes are choreographed by Hollywood action director, Craig Macrae and it is spectacular. But it is Prithviraj Sukumaran who steals the show. Even though he is under the mask for the majority portion of the first half, his voice is enough to captivate the attention. His screen presence is simply extraordinary. When it comes to comedy, it is Tiger Shroff who throws the maximum punches with ease. Some of the scenes will make your funny bones tickle. Manushi Chillar and Alaya F have significant roles to play in the film. As Captain Misha, Manushi even pulls off some of action sequences. Alaya F with her free spirited avatar does well. The background score is quite thrilling and sets the mood! The movie jumps from different timelines giving backstory of the lead characters, however, the storyline is smooth enough to not confuse the audiences.
What’s not?
Akshay Kumar’s USP is his comic timing but we missed that in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. We wish he had more of comedy to do whilst showcasing his heroism like he has done in the past. While Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has it all, the songs lack the entertainment factor. Some of the dialogues too appear to go overboard. The story at times does get predictable and the action sequences appear stretched. There are some bonds and relationships in the film that remain unexplored, however, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a franchise and there is a possibility that the part 2 will be more of it. Kabir will be back to unleash his terror!
