Akshaye Rathi said, “One is and out mass entertainer and the other is a sports drama, we have had these scenarios where such films have clashed and even performed well, back in the days where we witnessed Lagaan and Gadar, clash where Gadar was a mass entertainer and Lagaan was a sports drama and both did exceedingly well. Then recently we saw Gadar and OMG 2 clashing, Sam Bahadur and Animal. So both the films again may do well”.
Rohit Jaiswal said, “The clash will not affect the figures as one is for a mass audience and the other one is for the class audience, I have watched Maidaan, and is a very nice film. But you will not see this film performing well at tier 2 and tier 3. It’s a very friendly clash, both Ajay and Akshay are very cool with it. Whenever talk about the budgets of both the films it’s a huge difference so even if Maidaan will overall make 120 crore, Ajay will be very happy”.
All said and done, the audience will get to see the different kinds of movies at the end and they have a choice to pick. Earlier the clash used to affect the actors and producers but nowadays all the focus is on making the content better that will help to bring the audience in the theatres.
