We have seen that Anuj and Anupamaa have been separated and the reason was Choti Anu. They met in America five years later and Choti Anu is now called Aadhya. She hates Anupamaa to the core and is angry seeing her in the USA. Anuj is engaged to Shruti and Aadhya now wants him to marry her so that there is no chance of Anupamaa returning to their life. After Shruti’s parents pass away, Anuj decides to listen to Aadhya and get married to her.

Anuj speaks to Anupamaa and tells her that he is getting married for Aadhya and for all that Shruti did for them. They both love each other but decide to bid a final goodbye to each other. However, things will get affected again during Holi now.
