In an interview with Telly Chakkar, Vivek candidly discussed his audition for the role of Vikram Singh Rathore, revealing that he was indeed shortlisted. Although the makers of Khoobsurat appreciated his personality, they requested a simple reading to gauge his on-camera performance. Vivek confessed that he became nervous and started sweating and fumbling as soon as he began reading. Acknowledging his nervousness, Sonam Kapoor advised Vivek to go home, rehearse his lines, and return for a second reading.

Vivek later realized that although he was talented, he wasn’t adequately prepared at the time to play lead roles in significant films. He understood that cracking auditions requires a deep understanding of character portrayal, including both big and small nuances. Vivek mentioned that he later trained himself, and today he has a strong grasp of acting, knowing how to portray characters on screen with honesty and finesse.

Khoobsurat, released in September 2014, marked the debut of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in Bollywood, earning him immense appreciation and fame in the Hindi film industry.
