It’s a remake of Tamil film Alaipayuthey and stars Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji in the lead roles. The audience is in awe of the story of love, the chemistry, the performances, and the music. Well, Vivek has some interesting things to say about the film.
Vivek Oberoi recalls Saathiya days
In an interview, Vivek Oberoi revealed that Shaad Ali is a childhood friend and he got a call for Saathiya while he was working on Company. At that time, Ali showed Vivek the tape of Alaipayuthey. Shaad told Oberoi that he wants the actor to play R. Madhavan’s role in the Hindi remake. At that time, the actor said no, as he was doing Company. But Vivek was really touched by the end of the Tamil film and decided to take up the project.
Further in this entertainment news with Screen, Vivek revealed that Saathiya was a small budget film and only Rani Mukerji got a makeup van. “I had to go and change in restaurant bathrooms and hotel washrooms. I did the touch-ups on the streets. Nobody knew who I was. I used to carry the tripod on my shoulder and walk with the rest of the crew,” the actor recalled.
