Wise Child Collective Unveiled By Wise Child Studios To Support Rising Talent

EXCLUSIVE: Wise Child Studios, the recently launched production company of Jason Beekman and Ryan Miller, has announced the formation of the Wise Child Collective, a group of creatives from across the country that will aim to help both individual artists and small companies overcome obstacles in getting projects off the ground.

Creatives participating in the inaugural 2025-27 Collective include director and showrunner Lisa Bryant (Netflix’s Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich and Ghislaine Maxwell: Filthy Rich); Emmy-winning producer and director Paul Burger (Nat Geo’s Trafficked With Mariana van Zeller); and Emmy-winning director and showrunner Amy Bucher (Frontline’s After Uvalde: Guns, Grief, and Texas Politics and CNN’s This Is Life with Lisa Ling).

Intended to support both up-and-coming and established talent, Wise Child Collective will be a mix of producers, directors, writers, and journalists representing diverse backgrounds and experiences, who in collaborating with Wise Child Studios, will share in the company’s creative and financial success. Members of The Collective will have first-look-style deals, which are normally only available to more established talent.

The new program launches in January and comes at a time when Wise Child is laying down roots in Los Angeles with a new office that opened in November. From both offices, WCS will continue to develop and produce documentaries, scripted series and features, as well as provide strategic consulting, packaging and business services.

“As a young, outside-the-box production company, Wise Child is all about innovation and creative collaboration,”said Beekman, a veteran entertainment lawyer and business strategist, who previously served as Vice President and Head of Business & Legal Affairs for RadicalMedia. “The Wise Child Collective reflects our intention of being a company with the reach of a full-service production shop, while maintaining the flexibility, creativity, and bespoke approach of a boutique.”

Miller, a former showrunner and executive producer for Imagine Documentaries, added, “We’ve been fortunate to have worked with such great creative talent during our combined decades in the industry, and The Collective creates a unique opportunity to collaborate. We will provide our infrastructure, business experience and legal expertise to give members a fast-track through development and sales.”

Since its 2023 founding, on which we were first to report, Wise Child Studios has sought to streamline the creative process by providing strong strategic acumen and in-house legal counsel, which enables WCS to develop high-end projects on smaller budgets. In just a year, the company has begun building a slate across scripted and nonfiction series, features and podcasts.

On the development side, they’ve sold two commissioned projects to streaming services that are set to debut in 2025-2026. WCS also recently partnered with EverWonder Studio on a new docuseries and is in business with Oscar-nominated director Sam Pollard on a documentary feature. Currently, they’re posting On the End, a film based on a true story that stars Tim Blake Nelson, Mireille Enos, Anna Chlumsky, and Lois Smith. WCS is also on board for Mulligans, a recently announced dark golf comedy from directors Jake Rubin & Evan Metzold and Objectively Good Media.
